Complete bathroom renovations
Full bathroom renovations on the Costa del Sol: demolition, redistribution, plumbing, tiling, sanitaryware and finishes. Turnkey in 2–4 weeks.
What does this service include?
A full renovation means demolish and rebuild: we strip tiles and flooring, remove sanitaryware, reroute plumbing and electrics, and build a brand-new bathroom from scratch. The difference compared with bathroom fitting is that here we change everything, including the layout if you want.
We cover:
- Demolition and rubble removal
- Replanning and rerouting of plumbing (cold water, hot water, drains)
- New electrical sockets to REBT regulations (Reglamento Electrotécnico para Baja Tensión — low-voltage protection zones)
- Waterproofing of shower areas (liquid membrane or bituminous sheet)
- Tiling to mid-height, full ceiling height, or continuous microcement
- Flooring (ceramic, porcelain, microcement)
- Plasterboard suspended ceiling with recessed LED lighting
- New sanitaryware, taps, screen and furniture
- Final painting and cleaning
Typical materials: Porcelanosa, Roca, Saloni, Argenta for tiles; Roca, Duravit, Geberit for sanitaryware; Tres, Hansgrohe for taps. We work with the range that fits your budget.
How long does it take?
Typical timeline for a 5–7 m² bathroom:
- Week 1: demolition, rubble removal, services replanning, new plumbing and electrics
- Week 2: waterproofing, tiling and flooring
- Week 3: suspended ceiling, sanitaryware, taps, screen, final connections
- Week 4: painting, silicone, adjustments, cleaning, handover
Total 18–25 working days for a standard bathroom. Large bathrooms (>10 m²), with two wet zones or full services replacement from the main stopcock can stretch to 5–6 weeks.
How much does it cost?
Honest 2026 ranges — includes demolition, full labour, mid-to-high range materials, regulation waterproofing and final cleaning. 5–7 m² bathroom:
- Standard renovation (rectified porcelain, Roca sanitaryware, tempered glass screen, thermostatic taps): €4,000 – €7,500
- Mid-to-high (Porcelanosa or equivalent, Duravit sanitaryware, rainfall shower, indirect LED lighting): €7,500 – €10,500
- High-end (microcement or natural marble, concealed Duravit / Geberit sanitaryware, Hansgrohe Axor, underfloor heating): €10,500 – €12,000+
If main community drain stacks need moving or major redistribution (removing walls), add €2,000 – €4,500. For underfloor heating in the bathroom, +€1,200 – €2,200.
Important: be wary of full-renovation quotes below €4,000. Either they’re skimping on waterproofing (damp within 2 years) or on materials that won’t last. Botched work gets paid for twice — first the cheap job, then ours to fix it.
How do we work?
- Free visit to the current bathroom. We measure, photograph existing services, ask how you use it.
- Design proposal. Layout plan, tile elevations, material selection with physical samples.
- Firm quote. Itemised by trade (building, plumbing, electrics, tiling, sanitaryware). No “to be estimated” — everything fixed before we start.
- Execution. We protect access and route floors. We collect rubble daily. We warn before water or electricity cuts.
- Handover. Final walk-through with you, warranty pack and care guide (which silicone to renew, how to clean microcement, etc.).
Frequently asked questions
Can I live at home during the bathroom renovation? Yes, if you have a second bathroom. If it’s your only one, we recommend alternative accommodation for the last 2 weeks (no running water in the bathroom and sanitaryware yet to be installed). Some clients rent a holiday flat nearby for that phase.
Do I need a building permit? For an interior renovation without touching the façade or communal elements, prior notification to the council and notice to the community usually suffices. We handle it.
What if the community objects to noise? We work within permitted hours (usually 8:00–14:00 and 16:00–19:00 weekdays, no weekends). We notify neighbours in advance.
Microcement or tile in the shower area? Both work if waterproofing is good. Microcement is more modern and seamless (cleaner) but requires upkeep (resealing every 3–5 years). Rectified porcelain lasts 30 years untouched.
Warranty? 3 years on labour and waterproofing. Sanitaryware and taps carry manufacturer warranty (5–10 years depending on brand).
Do you serve owners living abroad in English? Yes. Most of our clients are international owners with second homes on the coast. We have a bilingual Spanish–English team and an English-speaking project manager assigned to each renovation. We send you weekly photographic progress reports, quotes and invoices in English if you prefer, and coordinate everything by WhatsApp/email while you’re in your country.
