What does this service include?

Work in ceramic tile, porcelain stoneware, mosaic, rustic ceramic, natural stone and hydraulic tile — walls and floors, interior and exterior. We handle pieces from small format (10×10 cm) up to large format (120×280 cm), which require specific equipment and different technique.

We cover:

  • Bathroom and kitchen tiling
  • Floor tiling throughout homes in porcelain
  • Non-slip exterior flooring (class 2 and 3) for terraces and porches
  • Pool flooring in porcelain or natural stone
  • Glass or gresite mosaic for shower or pool zones
  • Hydraulic-look tile (Mosaic del Sur, Wow) or authentic salvaged for character villas
  • Large format (120×280 cm porcelain, slabs) on kitchen worktops, splashbacks and seamless floors
  • Natural marble (Calacatta, Carrara, Travertino, Crema Marfil) and quartzite
  • Removal of existing tiles
  • Substrate preparation: levelling, self-levelling compound, decoupling membrane
  • Straight and mitre cuts with electric water saw
  • 45° edge cuts for seamless visible corners
  • Grouting with epoxy in wet zones or cementitious grout
  • Perimeter silicone in kitchens, bathrooms, terraces

How long does it take?

  • 5–7 m² bathroom tiling (walls to ceiling): 3–4 days
  • 80 m² flooring in 60×60 porcelain: 4–6 days
  • Flooring in 120×120 or larger large format: 5–8 days (slower due to weight and precision)
  • Removal + replanning + new bathroom tiling: 5–7 days
  • 30 m² terrace flooring with prep: 3–5 days
  • Pool flooring (full surround): 5–10 days

How do we work?

  1. Free visit. We measure surfaces, assess substrate condition (flat floor, square walls or not), recommend format and technique.
  2. Material selection. We work with local stockists in Marbella, Málaga, Mijas — we visit with you if you want or order samples.
  3. Firm quote. Labour + material if we supply + required prep + rubble removal.
  4. Preparation. If removal is needed, we do that first and clear. Self-levelling mortar if floor is not flat (essential for large format).
  5. Layout and laying. We plan the cut so pieces are centred and ugly cuts go hidden. Suitable adhesive (C2T for large format, C2TE for exterior).
  6. Grouting and silicone. 24 h after laying, we grout and seal the perimeter with neutral silicone. Final clean.

Frequently asked questions

Microcement or porcelain for a modern bathroom? Porcelain is more durable, easier to clean, no maintenance. Microcement is more modern (seamless) but needs resealing every 3–5 years and stains if the protective coat is damaged. For heavy use, porcelain. For aesthetic and if you’re careful, microcement.

Cementitious grout or epoxy grout? Cementitious for dry zones (lounge floor, bedroom, kitchen wall away from sink). Epoxy for wet zones (shower area, kitchen worktop) — doesn’t stain from coffee, no mould, lasts 25+ years. It’s 3–4× more expensive and slower to apply, but worth it in critical spots.

Do I need to remove old tiles or can I lay over them? You can lay over if the existing is well bonded (no hollow sound when tapped), with specific adhesive (C2TE) and provided the height difference doesn’t get in the way (you lose 12–15 mm of height). Remove if it’s loose, if you want large format with proper flatness, or if there’s damp underneath.

Will large format fit in my lift? A 120×280 cm piece doesn’t fit in a standard lift. For large format on an upper floor, we evaluate hauling up the stairs between two people or crane on the façade. We decide during the technical visit — affects the quote.

Warranty? 3 years on labour. If a piece lifts or cracks due to poor adhesion, we replace it. If due to impact or dropped object, not covered — we swap that piece with the spare material we leave you.

Do you serve international owners? Yes, it’s the majority of our book. We have a bilingual Spanish–English team and an English-speaking project manager assigned to each job. Large-format and natural marble jobs are almost always for British, German, Swedish or Dutch clients — the finish standard they expect is fully in line with how we work.
