Solar installation
Residential photovoltaic installation on the Costa del Sol: solar panels, inverters, batteries and self-consumption. IDAE grant processing and excess feed-in compensation.
What does this service include?
Installation of residential photovoltaic self-consumption on the Costa del Sol — one of the zones with the most sunshine hours in Europe, where return on investment is among the fastest in Spain (5–7 years for homes with decent consumption). We work as authorised installers, sign the boletín, process legalisation and grants, and provide after-sales support.
We cover:
- Feasibility study: roof orientation, shading, historical consumption from your bill
- Technical design: number of panels, peak power, inverter, protections
- Panel supply (Trina Solar, JA Solar, Longi, Jinko — Tier 1 brands)
- Inverter supply (Huawei SUN2000, Fronius, SolarEdge, Goodwe)
- Lithium batteries for storage (Huawei LUNA2000, BYD, Pylontech)
- Fixing structure for roof type (tile, flat, metal, pergola)
- Cabling, DC and AC protections, excess feed-in meter
- Electrical boletín and paperwork with Industry, Endesa/Iberdrola
- Application for excess feed-in compensation (you’re credited on the bill for what you export to the grid)
- Processing of IDAE / Plan Moves Solar grants and municipal IBI property tax discounts
- Monitoring app (consumption, production, battery in real time)
How long does it take?
- Technical visit + proposal + quote: 1 week
- Material order: 1–3 weeks (depends on inverter and battery stock)
- Physical installation: 1–3 days (4–8 kWp average home)
- Boletín + Industry submission: 1–2 weeks
- Utility connection and excess compensation: 4–8 weeks
- IDAE grant processing: 3–9 months for payout (but the system works from day 1)
Total from signature to real production: 4–6 weeks. From signature to grant payout: 4–10 months.
How much does it cost?
Costa del Sol 2026 — complete turnkey installation, Tier 1 panels and branded inverter (Huawei, Fronius, SolarEdge), before grant deduction:
- 2 kWp (5 panels, no batteries) — flat or low-consumption home: €5,500 – €7,500
- 3 kWp (8 panels, no batteries) — 2–3 person home: €6,500 – €9,000
- 5 kWp (12 panels, no batteries) — mid-to-high consumption home: €8,000 – €11,000
- 5 kWp + 5 kWh battery: €11,000 – €14,000
- 7–10 kWp + 10–15 kWh battery — large villa: €14,000 – €22,000+
What you pay for isn’t the cheapest kit on a comparison site. You pay for Tier 1 panels with 25-year production warranty, a serious inverter brand that handles coastal climate, an authorised installer, a signed boletín, and a bilingual project manager who processes your grants and excess feed-in compensation without you touching a piece of paper.
Grants available 2026 (subject to availability and open applications):
- Plan Moves Solar / IDAE: up to 40% of installation depending on autonomous region — Andalucía processes by application window
- IRPF tax deduction: 20–60% of investment deductible on tax return (annual cap)
- IBI discount: some councils (Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola) offer 25–50% IBI discounts for 3–5 years
With grants applied, real return on investment is usually 5–8 years. The system has a useful life of 25–30 years.
How do we work?
- Free technical visit. We go up onto the roof, measure usable surface, photograph shading throughout the day, analyse your electricity bill (12 months) to size the system.
- Proposal and savings simulation. How many panels fit, what it will produce annually, how much you’ll save, expected ROI.
- Firm quote. Materials, labour, paperwork, final price with and without grant.
- Order and planning. We order materials, plan installation.
- Installation. 1–3 days on the roof. Boletín signed.
- Legalisation and paperwork. Industry, utility, grants. Without you doing anything.
- Commissioning and app. We connect you to the monitoring app, teach you to read it, adjust consumption to maximise self-consumption (washing machine timing, water heater, etc.).
Frequently asked questions
Do I need batteries? Depends on your consumption profile. Without batteries: you benefit from sun you consume in real time (especially if home during the day) and you sell the surplus. With batteries: you store for night use, gain autonomy during power cuts. In a main home with significant night-time consumption (cooking, TV, night AC), batteries pay back in 7–10 extra years. In a holiday home, they usually don’t pay off.
Do they work on cloudy days? They produce less (30–50% of rated output) but they produce. What matters is annual total: on the Costa del Sol it’s 1,500–1,700 kWh/year per kWp installed (one of Europe’s best ratios).
Do I need community permission if I live in a flat? For installation in communal areas (building roof) yes. For your own balcony, notification usually suffices. We verify during the visit.
What about excess feed-in compensation? When you produce more than you consume, you export to the grid and the utility discounts that energy at market rate (typically €0.06–0.10/kWh, less than you pay but useful). On monthly bills you’ll see “compensated energy” as a discount.
Warranty?
- Solar panels: 12 years product + 25 years production (90% of initial output)
- Inverter: 5–10 years depending on brand, extendable to 15
- Battery: 10 years / 6,000 cycles
- Labour: 3 years
Do you handle grants if I live in the UK / Germany / Sweden? Yes. The vast majority of our solar clients are international owners — their profile fits photovoltaic installation perfectly because they already pay high electricity bills on a second home. English-speaking project manager processes Plan Moves, IRPF deduction and IBI discount without you signing anything in Spain beyond the initial power of attorney.
